Behind the name
I grew up spending summers at a family cabin on the beautiful St. Lawrence River in upstate New York. Sitting about 100 yards from the shore of that cabin, and at least 40 feet deep in the river, is a deteriorating milk truck, driven into the water in the 1950s by family members who worked for a dairy company and intended to use the derelict vehicle as an anchor for their pontoon.
When I decided to create my film and video production brand, I wanted to tie it to my favorite place on earth. It clicked the moment I thought of the milk truck. It’s both a symbol of an innovative, yet unorthodox solution to a problem and exemplary of the thought process I look for in collaborators. The milk truck itself also represents a sense of nostalgia and dependability, it evokes a familiar face providing a service for the community. All of these elements contribute to my vision of what Milk Truck Media should be, a storytelling service that builds collaboration and community.
