Behind The Craft: Jed Curtis, Heart and Spade Forge

At the age of 6, Jed Curtis’ birthday wish wasn’t a Game Boy, a football, or legos… it was an anvil. Since that young age, Jed has been hammering and shaping molten metal out of pure love and fascination for the craft.

After receiving his bachelor’s and teaching high school chemistry, Jed followed his passion for forging full-time and started his own blacksmithing shop, Heart and Spade Forge, in 2012. Since then, he’s been striving towards making the world’s most beautiful and effective forged carbon steel cookware.

In this episode of Behind The Craft, Tay drops by Heart and Spade Forge in Roanoke, Virginia, to see what it takes to craft Jed’s world-class cookware. They even fire up some burgers and test out one of his skillets.
