Behind The Craft: John Reburn, Appalachia Press

From his print studio in Roanoke, John Reburn of Appalachia Press keeps vintage processes alive in the printmaking industry.

A successful visual artist with a long career as a graphic designer, John gave up his design career in L.A. to return to his native Virginia and pursue letterpress printmaking. His deep love for typography, design, and vintage machinery has helped John get his highly unique card line in over 100 stores across the country, becoming a staple gift for loved ones to give for birthdays, thank you’s, and just about anything else they’d give a card for…

John was kind enough to let us into his studio to get an inside look at his process. He was even bold enough to let Tay try to operate his fast moving printing press, making for some entertaining mishaps.
